The launch of The Best 80 Years, the autobiography by Tony Best, musician, entertainer and promoter, published by YouCaxton, was held in the Executive Suite of Shrewsbury Town’s New Meadow Football Club on Wednesday 2 March, on Tony’s eightieth birthday. The launch was organised by his daughter Lynne Best, head of Tony Best Leisure.
Among the guests was Tony’s old friend Ken Dodd who put in a surprise appearance and spoke for more than half an hour, ad-libbing all the way, and had everyone in stitches.
Tony is a member of the UK Country Music Hall of Fame. His book describes a career in music and entertainment that spans over sixty years when he worked closely with many famous names.
