Images of Hope for Your Mental Health
by Dr Sarah Mayo

In a world where depression, despair, anxiety and stress are rife, where we are consumed with grief, and addiction is on the rise, Images of Hope for Your Mental Health cuts through the darkness and brings light - like a lighthouse for a ship on stormy seas.

Using her experience as a GP in England, and as a patient, Dr Mayo brings her own insights and a refreshing openness that challenges the stigma of poor Mental Health.

Packed full of helpful ideas, information and resources, with an easy-to-read, bite-sized style and over 50 hand-drawn images, this book is for you whether you’re curious, struggling, in crisis, or supporting someone and just want to understand.

This book comes out of a place of darkness but shines light on our emotions and feelings.

A must-have for every household in need of hope!

Dr Sarah Mayo (MA Hons Oxon, MB BS, MRCGP) lives in Leicestershire with her husband, daughter, cat and dog. Yes, she has a black dog (real as well as metaphorical)! She trained in medicine at Trinity College, Oxford and St George’s Hospital Medical School, London, followed by training posts around the county of Surrey. Having completed training she has worked as either a salaried or locum GP in London, Oxford, Hampshire, North Hertfordshire and, now, Leicestershire and Warwickshire. She also works in helping assess, diagnose and treat those with ADHD, helping to encourage the thousands of unknown “Neurosparklies” (insert your term of choice!) who never quite fitted in but muddled on through and are now seeing their butterflies emerge as they finally understand they are not wrong, just different. When not working or having family time, she enjoys gardening, singing and playing various instruments, crafting, the occasional attempt at painting and, when she has the time, relaxing in front of a good film or reading a book.
